Description

Rare Heisey etched glass lidded oval lemon dish with dolphin finial handle is in a chrome metal tray, three piece set. Vintage 1940's. Made in USA. The bottom of the metal tray is marked: Krome-Kraf Farber Bros New York, N The bottom of the glass dish has the H in a diamond shape Heisey logo (sixth photo). Dimensions: 4" high to top of finial when in metal holder, metal tray is 8.25" long x 6.25" wide glass dish is 6.5" long x 4.5" wide The clear glass dish holds 9 fluid ounces. It has an inter-fitting lid with etched floral botanicals, unknown Heisey pattern. It is a long curved stem with leaves and a single flower in the middle etched in two areas on the lid. The dish has flared handles on both ends and the lid has matching flared designs on both sides looking like an acanthus leaf flare plume. It can be used as a lemon dish, butter dish, sauce dish, and much more. There is a riveted on metal bracket where a butter knife or lemon fork would rest sideways and in the holder (utensils are not included) In very good used condition with no chips or cracks in the glass. There are some small bubbles in the glass as can be seen in our close-up photo of the dolphin finial handle (fourth photo). There are some deep scratches on the exterior of the glass dish on the sides near the bottom (19th photo) and a couple short manufacturing flaw marks also on the exterior of the dish but higher toward the top (20th photo) The glass is crystal clear and shiny with no clouding.
