Beautiful Etched Clear Glass Stein With Pewter Lid Etched Design Bucks in the Woods For Your Stein Collection-SteinItaly1 Details Description: A very nice etched clear glass stein from Italy. The stein has an applied handle and is decorated with an etched design depicting beautiful deer males or bucks prancing in the woods with trees and grass all around. There is a hinged pewter lid attached to the top of the handle. The lid is rather plat in profile with shaped sides. The lid has a shell shaped thumb piece. The stein has a round base with a ribbed recessed center and a scalloped inside edge. The outside edge of the base is plain and raises in a slightly curved fashion into inwards sloped sides ending in a plain rim. Again, the sides are decorated with a beautiful nature scene etched into the sides. A beautiful stein to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Uncertain, but most likely late 1990s to early 2000s. Origin: Italy. Size: Measures ~3 3/4" diameter at the base, ~3" diameter on top, ~5" at its widest including the handle and is ~7 13/4" high to the peak of the thumb piece. The piece weighs a little over two pounds. Maker: Unknown. Marks: The stein has a mark in raised lettering in the center of the base, which we are unable to decipher and has the word Italy in black raised letters on the edge of the base. Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice piece of Italian glass with very nice decoration. It would make a nice addition to your collection of steins or Beer related items. Condition: The stein is in excellent condition with no hairlines, repairs, chips, cracks, or breaks. The etched design is beautiful and intact. The only issue we see is a small ding to the edge of the lid which can be seen in the 2nd photo to the right and the 5th photo in the upper right. Other than that the lid is in excellent condition and has no additional damage, but has a few minor scratches. Be that as it may, this is a very nice piece, which would make a nice addition to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
