Description
Antique Etched Cut Glass Compote Dish Lidded Early American 9 1/4" tall with top on and 6 1/2" wide. No chips no cracks. Not sure exactly who or when this was made, but I did find another ebayer that listed the exact one. They have put this in their listing. FYI, I don't know the name of the cut pattern, but that shape is definitely Paden City #444. Good quality vintage/antique glass. Probably made in the 1930s, though higher quality that depression glass. Paden City was in operation from 1916 to 1951. NDGA (National Depression Glass Association) has an excellent short article about Paden City glass on their site, and a covered piece in the same shape as yours (with a different decoration) is listed in the glass etch and pattern gallery at the chartbound site. Happy hunting! I will pack and ship this promptly after payment is received. Thanks for shopping with me. Have a FANTASTIC day.
